I Have No One To Vote For!

February 22nd, 2008

This presidential election is getting down-right depressing. Being the libertarian that I am, the three people likely to be a candidate in November offer me NO choice. Between Obama, Clinton and McCain, I think I’ll choose abstention. As you may have already guessed, I’m a Ron Paul man. He is the first candidate I’ve been excited about since Ronald Reagan, and the only one talking about reigning in this runaway government of ours. I sometimes wonder if Americans have any idea what this country is supposed to be about and what made this the great nation it is (for now). I say for now because I watch our government expanding at an exponential rate, our dollar is quickly becoming a peso and it seems 95% of Americans don’t have a clue as to what’s happening. Both Clinton and Obama are stated socialists and McCain is the most economically liberal republican to ever gain national prominence. One thing is for sure. All three of these candidates are offering to expand the government even further by promising more “entitlements” (code for taking my money by force and giving it to someone else) and it’s a good bet they’ll do it with more deficit spending. George Bush, aside from being a pandering fool, has sold future generations down the river by refusing to veto every pork-barrel spending bill that crossed his desk and was instrumental in passing the prescription drug legislation that America has no hope of funding without printing money fraudulently. I pray the American people wake up soon and realize this election is just more of the same.
